Design, checking and bringing industrial installations into compliance: distribution, protections, discrimination, metering and supervision.
What is at stake
Many industrial installations have run for years with approximate discrimination, undersized cables or an earth electrode that was never measured. None of it shows — until the fault that takes down the whole plant instead of a single feeder.
A fault on one machine should trip only its own protection. Without a study it is the main breaker that trips, and the whole plant stops.
The breaking capacity of the protections must exceed the actual short-circuit current at the point considered. That is calculated, not estimated.
The earth electrode, bonding and surge arresters govern the safety of people and the survival of the electronics.
Metering, supervision and export limitation: knowing what each load consumes comes before any optimisation.
The engagement
Caneco BT or ETAP, depending on the size of the project.
