Are you subject to the mandatory energy audit?

Decree no. 2-17-746, made under Law 47-09, requires establishments based in Morocco to run an audit every five years above consumption thresholds expressed in tonnes of oil equivalent. This test works them out from your bills.

What this test gives you beyond the verdict. It breaks your consumption down by energy source and shows which one really weighs. That is often the real surprise: many sites believe their bill is electrical when most of it goes on fuel.

Conversion factors from the General Guide to the Mandatory Energy Audit published by the ministry in charge of energy: electricity 86 toe/GWh, diesel 1.04 toe/tonne, fuel oil 0.96, LPG 1.13, coal 0.66, petroleum coke 0.72.
